K. Shark fishing<br>1. Because of their reproductive biology and life history, sharks are particularly vulnerable to overfishing. According to the center for marine conservation, the number of sharks most vulnerable to commercial fishing has been reduced by 80%.<br>2. The number of sharks discarded by mistake is larger than the number of sharks targeted for fishing each year.<br>3. The cruel and wasteful fin cutting operation (cutting off the shark's fins and then putting the live shark without fins back into the sea) is still prevalent in many parts of the world.<br>50. To protect global fisheries, WWF has made the following recommendations:<br>1. Establish and enforce international minimum fish conservation and management standards.<br>2. The destructive fishing gear such as gill net must be replaced by other fishing gear.<br>3. Economic incentives to reduce non sustainable fishing operations.<br>4. Important marine habitats must be protected or restored.<br>5. In the next few years, we should greatly reduce the catch by mistake and the catch of non target species.<br>
